Car Insurance Cadillac (Car Insurance). I have a 1986 trans am 305 4bbl 5.0?I have a 1986 trans am 305 4bbl 5.0? When i start the car and rev it up it skipps on the rev... Also when i gun it when it sitting still it will start to go then almost choke down for a second then will go and you can still feel it skipping. I am curious if it is the carb orrrr.. Any help will be grateful. It uses the 93 grade gas. Everyone tells me the carb might be stopped up but i know nothing about carbs or how to check. Please any help. If you need any more info let me know. is it a 4bbl carb, or is it a throttle body? Either one, you've got fuel system issues, if it's a carb,(hope so) have it rebuilt and cleaned. If it's throttle body, your injectors need to be cleaned or it may be time to be replaced. Accelerator pump in the carb has gone bad, I suspect. I'm not sure what would be causing it but keep in mind it's a 25 year old motor in that car. I don't know how many miles are on it but you may want to consider an LS series swap. They are becoming more and more popular among second and third gen F Bodies. Auto parts : Ignition Relay Acura 1995 . Ignition Signal Adapter Alfa Romeo 1996 . Ignition Switch Audi 1997 . When I bought the car a few years ago, all of the power locks and unlocks worked. But for the past year or so, the power locks have stopped working (with the key remote, the keyless entry, the driver and passenger switches), but the switch in the trunk has been working fine. All of the unlock switches have been working, its just the lock parts that haven't been working. But the other day, the switch in the trunk stopped forking for both locking and unlocking. All of the other unlock switches work, except for that one. It is just the locks. Cadillac . How to Lower a 1996 Chevy TruckThe 1996 Chevrolet Silverado is one of the most popular full-sized trucks for customizing, and has been since it was introduced. Building on the sculpted lines of the previous generation of full sized Chevrolet trucks, and yet not as rounded of form as the latter full sized trucks, the 1996 Silverado provides the kind of customizing groundwork that makes for a stunning custom truck presentation. The first step in that customization is generally lowering the suspension, and no suspension setup is better for retaining ride quality than installing blocks on the back leaf springs, and replacing the stock spindles on the front suspension. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Automotive jack Jack stands Lug wrench 1/2 inch drive socket set 1/2 inch drive hex bits Small flat screwdriver Rear axle lowering block kit with shackles Front suspension lowering spindlesInstall the Rear Lowering Blocks Step by Step : 1 Use the jack to raise the truck, and then support the frame using the jack stands. Use the lug wrench to remove the wheels and tires from the truck, and then set them aside out of the way. 2 Locate the shackles which hold the truck's axle and leaf spring suspension together. The shackles curve over the top of the axle and run through a mounting plate under the leaf spring. There are two shackles per leaf spring, mounted to the base plate with four nuts. Unbolt the nuts from the shackles on both sides of the truck, and then remove and discard the old shackles. The suspension block kit includes new shackles and nuts. 3 Position the jack under the axle, and then raise the axle with the jack until you can slide the suspension blocks between the top of the leaf spring and the bottom of the axle. There is a guide pin on the axle mounting plate which fits into a slot in the top of the block, and a guide pin in the bottom of the block which fits into a slot in the top of the leaf spring. 4 Place the new shackles over the axle and down past the block, and then through the leaf spring mounting plate. Run the nuts onto the shackle, and then tighten them down with the socket wrench. The installation of the suspension block is the same on the passenger's and driver's sides of the truck. Install the Front Lowering Spindles Step by Step : 1 Face the wheel well of the truck, and then identify the spindle of the truck. Immediately in front of you, you will see the brake disc and the brake caliper. Below the brake disc you will see the lower ball joint connected to the lower control arm. Support the lower control arm with the jack. Above the brake disc is the upper control arm and the upper ball joint. Positioned at the front of the truck you will see the tie rod bolted to the steering arm of the spindle. Unbolt the tie rod with the socket wrench and allow it to hang. 2 Use the socket wrench fitted with a hex bit to unbolt the brake caliper, and then pull it off of the brake disc and allow it to hang beside the spindle. Pull the brake disc off of the wheel hub using your hands. You do not need tools to remove the brake disc. Behind the brake disc is the wheel hub. Remove the metal cover closest to you which seals the inside of the wheel hub using a small flat screwdriver. Inside you will find a bolt. Use the socket wrench to remove the bolt, and then pull the wheel hub off of the spindle. 3 Unbolt the upper ball joint nut and the lower ball joint nut, and then push upward with your hands on the upper control arm to release the spindle of the truck. Remove the spindle and replace it with the new spindle from the suspension lowering kit. 4 Secure the upper and lower ball joint bolts to the spindle, and then bolt the tie rod to the new spindle's steering arm. Reinstall the hub, brakes and then the front wheel of the truck to complete the installation. The procedure for changing the spindle is the same on both the passenger's and driver's sides of the truck. Tips & Warnings Check and replace the upper and lower ball joints if necessary while the truck's spindle is removed.
Cadillac . How to Lower a 1993 Chevrolet SilveradoThe 1993 Chevrolet Silverado is a truck which has been customized in various forms since it was first introduced. One of the most popular customizations for these trucks is to lower the suspension, providing better road handling for vehicles equipped with two-wheel drive. The easiest way to lower the truck is by utilizing lowering blocks in the rear of the truck and replacing the spindles on the front. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Automotive jack Jack stands Lug wrench 1/2-inch drive socket set Rear lowering blocks Screwdrivers Front lowering spindlesInstall the Rear Lowering Blocks Step by Step : 1 Jack up the truck and support the frame with jack stands. Use the lug wrench to remove the wheels and tires from both axles of the truck. 2 Study the rear suspension of the truck. The axle rests on the top of the leaf spring, connected with four U-shaped shackles which terminate under the leaf spring at a mounting plate. At the end of each shackle are nuts which secure the assembly together. 3 Situate the jack under the rear axle of the truck, then use the socket wrench to remove the nuts securing the shackles around the top of the axle. Do this on both sides of the truck. With the nuts removed, remove the stock shackles and discard them. The rear lowering block kit includes longer replacement shackles and nuts. Jack up the rear axle to provide enough room to slip the rear lowering blocks between the leaf spring and the axle. 4 Drop the replacement shackles over the top of the rear axle, past the lowering block then through the mounting plate located at the bottom of the leaf spring. Secure the shackles in place with the replacement shackle nuts included with the kit, then tighten them down. Reinstall the rear wheels onto the truck. Install the Front Lowering Spindles Step by Step : 1 Study the way the front suspension is set up. Sit facing the wheel well. You will see the brake disc immediately in front of you with the brake caliper at your right. At the top of the brake disc and immediately behind is the upper ball joint, then the upper control arm which attaches to the frame. Underneath the brake disc and immediately behind it is the lower ball joint and the lower control arm. To the left of the brake disc is the tie rod, which bolts to the spindle to steer the truck. 2 Use the socket wrench to remove the brake caliper and then let it hang gently behind the brake disc. Pull the brake disc off the wheel hub. You will not need tools to do so. Behind the disc brake, you will find the wheel hub. On this are mounted the five wheel lugs. It is capped by a metal dome. Use a screwdriver to pry this metal dome off the wheel hub. Inside, you will see a bolt. 3 Remove the bolt which holds the wheel hub to the spindle using the socket wrench. The wheel bearing is located within the wheel hub. Be careful to avoid getting anything inside the wheel hub which could eventually damage the wheel bearing. 4 Support the lower control arm with the jack, then unbolt the tie rod and allow it to hang freely. Unbolt the upper and lower ball joints from the control arms using the socket wrench, then push upward on the upper control arm to free the spindle from the control arms. 5 Position the new spindle into the control arms and bolt them down securely. Install the tie rod into the spindle, then reassemble the hub and brakes. Install the wheels and tires back onto the truck. Installation of the front spindle lowering kit is the same on both the driver and passenger side of the truck. Tips & Warnings While the suspension is disassembled, check to make sure that the ball joints are working properly, and change them if necessary. Also perform routine brake service as necessary while the wheels are removed from the truck. *much harder to remove and can permanently damage the finish. v* At regular intervals, apply a coat of wax or sealer designed for clear- coat finishes. A high-quality polymer sealant provides the best protection because it binds with the paint. By making the surface more slippery, it retards water spots and makes it easier to remove bugs and tree sap. A good sealer can last up to six months. Carnuba wax gives a deeper shine but lasts only a couple of months. Follow the instructions in the "Waxing your car" section to get the best results. 1032

Excellent conditioners designed to keep plastic windows clear and supple without scratching them are available. If your car's rear window is already clouded beyond visibility, Meguiar's Plastic Cleaner is a unique heavy-duty product that polishes the cloudy stuff right off the window, leaving it relatively clear again. If you must park your car where the sun can shine directly on its plastic window for long periods of time, cover the outside of the window with an old towel to protect it from the sun. Chrome and metal trim Several excellent polishes are designed specifically to clean chrome without scratching the delicate layer of plating. These preparations not only clean the metal without scratching it but also retard rust and leave the surface bright and shining. You can use chrome polish on other metal surfaces, too. Here are some tips for polishing chrome and metal trim: V Try not to get the polish on the surrounding paint. The polish can discolor the paint. V Be sure to do the inside surfaces of the bumpers, too, if you can reach them. And don't forget the metal hubcaps or wheel covers and the metal frames around the lights and side mirrors. U* If you find rust on any metal area, get rid of the stuff immediately! For instructions, rush directly to the section on rust removal in Chapter 24. M* After you clean the metal surfaces, wax them to prevent rust from forming. Use a special wax designed for chrome bumpers and metal surfaces, because these areas require more protection than painted surfaces do. Other types of wax may prevent the chrome from getting the oxygen it needs to preserve its shine. Cadillac . What is the second most populous city in ireland?
